The Department of Classics and Modern Languages at Xavier University, a Jesuit-Catholic institution with a strong liberal arts tradition, invites applications for an appointment as Visiting Faculty of Classics (annual contract renewable subject to performance). The position is renewable subject to enrollments, funding, and positive performance reviews. Applicants must have a PhD in Classical Archaeology, Classics, or in an immediately relevant field by August 1, 2016. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The successful candidate will have the Ph.D. in hand, with teaching experience in Latin and courses in Classical Civilization. Fall 2016 courses are set: two sections of Latin 101 and one section of CLC 106 (Classical Mythology); three Spring 2017 courses will be chosen in consultation with the successful candidate.

The Department of the Classics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a full-time 9 month, non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Lecturer in the area of Classics and Classical Reception, with a start date of August 16, 2016.
