UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI, Department of Classics, is seeking applicants for a Visiting Assistant Professor to teach three courses during each semester of the 2017-18 academic year. Ph.D. in Classics or related discipline required by time of appointment. At least one year’s experience in college teaching preferred. Duties include teaching undergraduate courses in Latin and/or Greek and/or English translation, and participating in various departmental activities. Actual offers are contingent upon need and available funding.

The Department of Classics and Religious Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for a one-year position at the rank of Lecturer, beginning in August 2017. Ph.D. is preferred. We seek a Classicist with broad training in the languages, literatures, and cultures of the ancient world. Teaching load is 3-4 and includes Greek and Latin at all undergraduate levels, as well as courses on literature and culture in translation. Monmouth College, a liberal arts college and member of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest, announces a one-year, full-time position in archaeology and Classics for the academic year 2017-2018. Teaching responsibilities, subject to enrollment, will include a variety of topical classes in archaeology, mythology, and literature (some of them half-semester, and some of them full-semester), and one half-semester seminar on the classical subject of the candidate’s choice.
