The University of Oklahoma’s Department of Classics and Letters invites applications for a full-time Instructor or Lecturer in Latin. We seek a candidate with proven pedagogical skills, particularly in Latin language instruction, who will advocate for and strengthen the department’s classical languages program as well as coordinate outreach to teachers and students at the secondary level. The successful candidate will teach three courses each semester, primarily Beginning and Intermediate Latin, and eventually Medical Vocabulary.

The Department of Classics in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks an Assistant Professor in Classical Archaeology and Digital Humanities for a tenure-track appointment. We are looking for someone to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in their specialization and whose research program resides at the intersection of the growing field of Digital Humanities and Classical scholarship.

The Department of World Languages, Literatures & Cultures is seeking an Assistant Professor of Classics, tenure-track, to teach intermediate and advanced level courses in Greek and Latin language, literature, and culture. Two-course load per semester. Preference for candidates who specialize in Greek, are familiar with current language pedagogy, and can teach in affiliated units, including the Honors College and the Comparative Literature Program.

The Department of History and Classical Studies at McGill University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Ancient Greek History, with a specialization in any period from the beginning of the Iron Age through the Hellenistic era, whose research agenda meaningfully engages material culture. The successful candidate will also hold the MacNaughton chair in Classics. The position is effective August 1^st, 2024. The successful applicant must hold a PhD by the time of appointment.

The Department of Classics at the University of Oregon seeks a Latinist to fill a tenure-track position (1.0 FTE) at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective September 16, 2024. The academic year follows the quarter system, and the teaching load is five courses per year (2-2-1).



The position requires teaching Latin at all levels as well as lower and upper-division classics-in-translation courses.
