The Department of Classics announces a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Latin Literature beginning August 2018. Initial appointment is for one calendar year, with automatic renewal for one additional year pending satisfactory completion of duties, for a total of two years maximum. In addition to engagement with the undergraduate and graduate students and participation in the research program of the Department, the duties of the position shall include a teaching load of 2 courses each term, at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The salary is set at $47,658 per annum; the position is eligible for health insurance. This position is open only to those who have received the Ph.D. after January 1, 2014; the Ph.D. must be in hand by July 1, 2018 (this is a requirement of the University and is not negotiable).

We seek an individual whose innovative research in Classics emphasizes Latin literature and its broader contexts. The successful candidate will have a research program that complements those of existing faculty. The Fellow will have the opportunity to help organize a workshop or conference during the tenure of the fellowship.
