The Department of Classics and the Program in Hellenic Studies at Princeton University invite applications for an Assistant Professor position, tenure track, in the field of post-Classical Greek language and the Greek literary tradition, broadly understood. The successful candidate should have a PhD in Classics or a related area and demonstrated expertise in the Greek language, literature and culture of Late Antiquity and the Byzantine or post-Byzantine periods. Applicantsshould be prepared to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in ancient Greek language and literature, and in Greek literature in translation, as well as in their area of expertise. The position will be available starting September 1, 2011.
