QUEEN'S NATIONAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM
The Department of Classics at Queen's University at Kingston invites applications from outstanding scholars for a faculty appointment in Greek History under the terms of the Queen's National Scholars (QNS) Program. Candidates whose research interest is in social history or epigraphy are particularly encouraged to apply. QNS appointments are to enrich teaching and research in newly developing fields of knowledge as well as traditional disciplines. Preference will be given to scholars to be appointed at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The University invites applications from all qualified individuals. The main criterion of interest to the selection committee is academic excellence regardless of other considerations. A maximum of four awards will be available in 2007/08. Appointments under this special program will be either tenure-track or special shorter term appointments in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the University and the Queen's University Faculty Association.

Each completed application should include a curriculum vitae, a statement of current and prospective research interests and a statement regarding teaching interests and experience. Applicants should also supply information concerning any interruptions in their academic careers. It is the responsibility of the applicants to have letters from at least three referees sent directly to the address below. The deadline for receipt of completed applications, including letters of reference, is October 12, 2007 for decisions in January 2008.
