Radin Consulting, Inc. is accepting applications for an Archaeology Supervisor, a full-time position with a one- to three-year term. Radin Consulting, Inc. is a small environmental firm specializing in providing transportation-related services to comply with federal, state and local regulations. The firm is located in Newark, New Jersey and this particular assignment is in Lower Manhattan.

The successful candidate will have a higher degree in archaeology or a related field, long first-hand familiarity, through participation, with the practice of archaeology in New York City. Ideal candidate would have excellent capacities for organization, successful experience in working with federal, state and local regulatory/governmental agencies, and the ability to deal courteously and effectively with a wide variety of people.

The Archaeology Supervisor's duties include: 1) Observe construction excavation activities to identify, recover, protect and/or document archaeological information or materials; 2) Oversee construction activity and participate in tasks that include site visits, review of monitoring plans, review of any finds and critical archaeological issues surfacing at the project site; 3) Provide expert advice on archaeological issues to federal/state and local agencies and present findings to local community and public, as needed; and 4) Prepare project status reports and articles for a web site.
