The Department of Classics of Rutgers University-New Brunswick is seeking to fill for the 2008-2009 academic year a position at the level of assistant professor (tenure-track) for a committed teacher and outstanding scholar with a specialty in either Greek poetry (archaic, Classical, Hellenistic) or the literature or culture of Rome. In the latter instance special needs include Roman comedy, the Latin novel, poetry of the Empire, Roman law, Latin epigraphy, or Roman material culture.
