The Department of Classics invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor for a versatile classicist with a special expertise in Roman studies, the appointment to begin July l, 2000. The successful candidate should be prepared to teach Latin literature and Roman history at the graduate and undergraduate level and Greek language, literature, and history at the undergraduate level. The Department of Classics invites applications for a one-year replacement position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor for a versatile Classicist prepared to teach elementary ancient Greek (fall and spring semesters) and lecture courses in translation on Women in Antiquity (fall) and Greek and Roman Myth (spring). The salary for this position is $30,000. Applicants must have the Ph.D. in hand by July 1, l999, the effective date of appointment.
