  1. The Department of Classics invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor for a versatile classicist with an expertise in ancient philosophy, the appointment to begin July 1, 2001. The successful candidate should be prepared to teach Greek and Latin literature at the undergraduate level, and either Greek or Latin literature, including philosophical works, at the graduate level, and, in general, to participate fully in the Department's undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The successful candidate should be prepared to teach Latin literature and Roman history at the graduate and undergraduate level and Greek language, literature, and history at the undergraduate level.
