Ancient Mediterranean. The Department of History at San Francisco State University invites applications for an approved tenure-track assistant professorship in Ancient Mediterranean History to begin in Fall 2013, subject to financial ability. Specialists in any field except Late Antiquity will be considered. The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester, including surveys of Greek and Roman history, undergraduate and graduate seminars in his or her specialization, and the first half of a Western Civilization or World History course. Candidates with additional expertise in the ancient history of another region of Eurasia or Africa are encouraged to apply. Ph.D. or completion of degree requirements by August 1, 2013 required.
