Approved tenure-track position, assistant professor, effective Fall 2003, in Department of Classics, San Francisco State University. Must have Ph.D. in hand or be assured completing it before time of appointment. We seek an interdisciplinary general classicist with ability to teach undergraduates in Greek, Latin, and material culture, and graduates (M.A.) in her/his area of specialization. The department's highest priority is excellence in teaching; scholarship and service are important. We welcome applicants with teaching and scholarly interests in such fields as gender and ethnicity, cross-cultural influences, ancient Near East. Salary negotiable.
