The Department of Classics invites applications for a two-year lecturer position in Classics beginning fall 2008. Ph.D. preferred, but A.B.D. will be considered. The teaching load is seven quarter courses (2-3-2), and includes sections of the following courses: Ancient Western History (survey), Roman Empire (or similar), upper-division Latin (reading course), and an upper-division Classics course to be agreed upon by the lecturer and chair. In the second year, the lecturer will be expected to offer courses in Greek history and in the new Core Curriculum. Proven excellence in teaching is extremely desirable.
