SARAH LAWRENCE COLLEGE - BRONXVILLE, NY
The Sarah Lawrence College Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literature invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Classics, beginning in fall 2004. The position entails teaching undergraduates in small, seminar-style classes and directing their independent projects. Candidates must have a commitment to teaching Greek and Latin language and texts at all levels, as well as the occasional course in classics in translation. We would particularly welcome applicants in whose teaching and scholarship the close study and interpretation of ancient texts (literary, historical, or philosophical) is central.
