The Center for Western Civilization, Thought & Policy (CWCTP) and the Department of Classics of the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications to join our new, interdisciplinary community of Scholars in Residence. The CWCTP Scholar/Artist in Residence is a one-year, non-tenure-track, Scholar-in-Residence appointment. Selections will be made on the basis of candidates’ relevance to our theme for the year, “Truth and Rhetoric,” as well as on their ability to promote the larger mission of the CWCTP. Scholars in Residence should expect to teach one course per semester. They will participate regularly in the extended community of the Center and the Department of Classics through attendance at lectures, engagement with students, and participation in the academic life of the University. Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. at the time of appointment.

Please apply online at https://cu.taleo.net/careersection/2/jobdetail.ftl?job=12862&lang=en. All candidates should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, and contact information for three references by April 12, 2018. The letter should articulate the intellectual significance of the candidates’ research project, the sort of tangible results that will be achieved by the end of the appointment, and how those results can contribute to the Center, the Department of Classics, and the broader university community. Additionally, applicants are encouraged to identify two courses that they could teach, either chosen from the department’s regular offerings or designed to fit under a “Topics” rubric (see https://www.colorado.edu/classics/courses).
