The Future Faculty Institute at the College of the Holy Cross aims to empower prospective faculty from marginalized populations by giving them the opportunity to explore academic departments, network with faculty and staff, engage in research talks, and immerse themselves in the community and campus culture. The program is designed to prepare participants for successful careers in academia.

This competitive, nationwide search welcomes scholars who are able to contribute in meaningful ways to the College of the Holy Cross’s commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences. This program is for advanced Ph.D. or MFA candidates (anticipated graduation by May/June 2024), postdoctoral scholars, early-career faculty, or researchers who desire a rewarding academic teaching and research career at an exceptional institution. While we are primarily interested in applicants who are underrepresented and underserved in teaching professions at Holy Cross, the Program is open to all eligible participants regardless of race, religion, age, gender, or other protected federal or state categories. If chosen to participate, Holy Cross will cover your transportation, lodging, and meals for the duration of the program, September 15th - September 18th, 2024.

  • Attend networking receptions with the President, Provost, Deans, faculty, staff, and students
  • Present your research or art to faculty, department chairs, and Deans
  • Tour the campus and the greater Worcester community
  • Gain career development insight and advice from Holy Cross faculty
  • Learn about current and upcoming faculty positions
  • Engage in one-on-one, panel, and roundtable discussions about life in academia
  • Receive feedback on your research or art, and job talk to improve your candidacy
