As the 2017 Annual Meeting in Toronto approaches, we have some important updates and reminders:

1. The Sheraton Centre hotel is no longer accepting reservations. However, there are plenty of rooms available at the Toronto Hilton which is just across the street from the Sheraton. We will be using the Hilton’s meeting rooms for a number of events and meetings. Book your room at the Hilton, or call them (1-800-Hiltons) and use the code AIAA17 when making your reservation. Please note that we cannot guarantee the discounted rate for reservations made after December 23, 2016.

2. Attendees who are not US or Canadian citizens will need to fill out an electronic travel authorization (eTA) in order to enter Canada. This requirement applies to all non-US and non-Canadian citizens, including permanent residents of the US. You can fill out your eTA application online and get approval within a few minutes. Click on the link to apply for an eTA. When you fill out the eTA, please ensure that you type all information correctly, particularly your passport number.

3. As a reminder, SCS will provide AV equipment for authors of individual abstracts and panel organizers who requested AV equipment when they submitted their abstracts and proposals. We will provide digital projectors and screens but presenters must provide their own laptops. We recommend that presenters using Macs come with the appropriate adapter to connect to a digital projector.

4. In mid- to late November, the SCS office sent out checks to those graduate students and contingent faculty who are receiving travel stipends for the Annual Meeting. If you had been notified that you were receiving a stipend in the Fall but have not yet received your check, please notify the executive director immediately (xd@classicalstudies.org).
