Dear SCS Member,
I am writing to introduce myself as the new Executive Director of the Society. I have been involved with the Society since the mid-90s in a number of capacities. I’ve been a member and Placement Service candidate. I have presented at the Annual Meeting as a scholar. Since 2008, I have worked as a funder with Adam and the Officers and Directors of the Society. I am delighted to be serving the Society now in a new capacity and to be returning to my home discipline of Classics.
I would like to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of Adam Blistein and of SCS staff members Heather Hartz and Renie Plonski. Their professionalism and dedication to the organization and its members have enabled SCS to thrive and evolve as technology and educational institutions have changed.
I will be in touch over the summer with a number of updates on new staff, a permanent office location in New York, elections, the Annual Meeting and the Placement Service. Please be assured that since our Philadelphia offices will remain open until August 31 for archiving and clean-up purposes, we will receive anything mailed there over the summer.
