The Board of Directors of the Society for Classical Studies has voted unanimously to endorse this statement of concern about proposals pending in the Wisconsin legislature that threaten to undermine several longstanding features of the state’s current higher education system: shared governance, tenure, and academic freedom. The statement was produced by the American Historical Association and endorsed by twenty other associations that, like the SCS, are members of the American Council of Learned Societies.
