SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY –DALLAS, TX
Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, seeks a faculty member in the History of Christianity, with particular attention to the history and literature of early Christianity. This is a full-time, tenured or tenure-track appointment; rank and salary are open. The appointee will regularly teach foundational courses on the history of Christianity as well as more specialized courses on early Christianity in the various degree programs of Perkins School of Theology, and will also teach M.A. and Ph.D. students in the Graduate Program in Religious Studies of Dedman College. Essential qualifications include: a Ph.D. or equivalent degree; scholarly competence in both the Greek and the Latin traditions of early Christianity; and the readiness and ability to relate the study of the history of Christianity to preparation for church leadership. Position begins with the fall term of 2005.
