ST. DAVID'S SCHOOL - RALEIGH, NC
LATIN/GREEK TEACHER. St. David's School is an independent K-12 Episcopal day school and is seeking a full-time classicist to teach primarily Upper School Latin, including AP Latin courses, and Greek. With an enrollment of 435, the School is located in Raleigh, NC, and draws students from all parts of the Triangle, including Chapel Hill and Durham, and surrounding areas.

The School introduces all sixth grade students to the Latin language and requires nearly every seventh grade student to study Latin I. Those who pursue their studies have the opportunity to take six levels of Latin, including two AP level courses. All Latin students take the National Latin Exam and many participate in the Junior Classical League. The study of ancient Greek is offered in three elective courses.

The responsibilities of the position include teaching Latin and Greek, supporting the department, and sharing an enthusiasm for classical studies and learning. An ideal applicant will have experience in teaching Latin and a knowledge of both biblical and classical Greek, and will be able to espouse and support the School's Christian mission of faith, virtue, and knowledge.

The position is full-time, beginning August 11, 2003. Salaries are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
