Sweet Briar College seeks an Assistant Professor of Classical Studies for a tenure-track position beginning in fall 2009. Candidates will be expected to teach Greek and Latin at all levels as well as a broad range of courses in ancient literature and culture. While the area of specialization is open, a focus on Latin literature and Roman culture is preferred. The ideal candidate will be committed to teaching in a small, liberal arts college setting. PhD must be in hand by date of hire. Review of applications begins December 5, and we will be interviewing in Philadelphia at the AIA/APA meeting in January 2009.
