The Department of Classical Studies, Tel Aviv University, Israel invites applications for a tenure-track post in Latin language and literature. We are looking for a candidate with strong philological competence in both Greek and Latin and a broad background in Greek and Roman civilization. Teaching responsibilities will include courses in classical civilization, and both undergraduate and graduate courses in Greek and Latin. The Ph.D. thesis must be completed by October 2001. Preference will be given to candidates able to teach in Hebrew and to those who have teaching experience and publications.

Salary and conditions will conform to Israeli university regulations. Appointment procedures will be carried out, and rank determined according to the rules and regulations of Tel Aviv University, and are subject to the approval of the university authorities. The appointee will be required to reside in the Tel Aviv area.
