TEMPLE UNIVERSITY – PHILADELPHIA, PA

The Department of Greek and Roman Classics invites applications from candidates for a non-tenure-track, full-time position for 2013-14.

The department has particular needs in Latin language and Roman culture. Evidence of successful teaching experience, especially in first-year language and civilization courses, is essential. The teaching load for this position for 2013-14 will be 3-3 or 3-4 (11 or 12 hours each term). The fall semester involves Latin 1, Latin 2 and a General Education course; the latter will be either Race in Greece and Rome or Greek Theater and Society. The spring semester will likely involve two first-year language courses and a survey course of Roman civilization.

This position has the possibility of renewal, pending continued funding and satisfactory performance. Applicants should have the doctorate in hand, or have completion imminent.
