TEMPLE UNIVERSITY – PHILADELPHIA, PA
The Department of Greek and Roman Classics invites applications from candidates for a non-tenure-track, full-time position for 2012-13. The focus of this position, which is renewable (pending satisfactory performance and budgetary re-authorization), is Roman history.
The successful candidate will teach four classes each term. These likely include: one course each term of intermediate or advanced Latin or Greek; a survey course in Roman history; a General Education course, Race in the Ancient Mediterranean (one section in the fall, two in the spring); and an upper-level seminar each term in the department’s cycle of courses on the ancient city (two of these three: Roman Jerusalem, Byzantium, Alexandria).
Evidence of successful teaching experience, both in language and civilization courses, is essential. Candidates should send ONLY a cover letter, by e-mail, with curriculum vitae (as attachments, preferably in PDF format), indicating ability and experience for teaching Greek, Latin and classical culture courses at all undergraduate levels.
