POSITION ONE: The Department of Anthropology at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Biological Anthropology at the Assistant Professor level. Candidates must have an active research program and be able to contribute to the growth of our graduate program. The Ph.D. must be in hand by August 2003. Texas A&M has strong undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs in Anthropology (website: http://www.tamu.edu/anthropology). POSITION TWO: The Department of Anthropology, Nautical Archaeology Program at Texas A&M University, seeks an archaeologist holding a Ph.D. for a tenure-track position at the level of

Assistant Professor to begin September 1, 2003. The principal area of specialization sought is in Classical-period seafaring and nautical archaeology, with a secondary expertise in seafaring and nautical archaeology of the Medieval period. Candidates should be able to teach undergraduate lecture courses and graduate seminars, supervise graduate research projects, and conduct fieldwork involving Texas A&M University graduate students. Candidates with developed research programs are especially encouraged to apply. Tenure-line assistant professorship, classics / Italian. Texas A&M University, a Research I, AAU institution, announces an entry-level, tenure-track position, to begin fall, 2003. We anticipate that the successful candidate will be able to teach Latin in a curriculum with a major and Italian as part of a minor, at the advanced undergraduate level in one language and the intermediate level at the other; exceptionally well qualified candidates with proficiency in only one area are also invited to apply. Candidates must also demonstrate a serious commitment to research and publication. Must have Ph.D. in hand at time of appointment.
