The Department of Architecture at Texas A&M University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of ancient architectural history starting in the fall semester 2006 with a field of specialization in one of the following areas: the ancient Near East, ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, or ancient Rome.

Texas A&M is a doctoral-level university with strong emphases in both teaching and research. The Department of Architecture offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, including the Ph.D. Further information about the Department of Architecture is available at http://archweb.tamu.edu/architecture/.

Candidates must demonstrate an ability to teach courses, including introductory surveys, advanced undergraduate classes, and graduate seminars, for both architecture students and a general university population. Applicants should also provide clear evidence of a strong research agenda. Ph.D. preferred, ABD considered, and teaching experience required.
