Assistant Professor position in Classical Archaeology The Department of Classical & Modern Languages & Literatures at Texas Tech University seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Classical Archaeology. We seek applicants with a record of teaching, research, and publication in Roman archaeology and material culture, who will be able to teach surveys in Roman archaeology and material culture at the graduate and undergraduate levels and to complement existing faculty interests. The candidate should also be capable of teaching existing core courses in the program: such as Sports and Spectacles in the Ancient World, World of the Near East, Gender and Sexuality. Ability to teach undergraduate Latin is an advantage. Responsibilities include an ongoing program of research and commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University.
