Transylvania University, a selective, private, liberal arts college in a vibrant urban setting invites applications for a TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR JOINT POSITION IN PHILOSOPHY AND CLASSICS. Area of Specialization: Ancient Philosophy; Area of Competence: Medieval and Renaissance Philosophy. Must be able to teach language courses in Greek and/or Latin. Seven course load (three per semester plus one in either a May Term or August Term). Will teach at least two courses annually in Philosophy along with at least two in Classics, as well as contribute in rotation with other faculty members to Transylvania’s first-year interdisciplinary core curriculum. Will be expected to develop other classes in Classics as well as Philosophy at all levels and that serve the GE curriculum. Normal service and committee work. Summer teaching possible.
