Tufts University’s Department of Drama and Dance invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of pre-modern theatre. Areas of expertise may include classical, medieval, Renaissance, or Baroque theatre. A Ph.D. and the promise of excellence in scholarship and teaching are required. Experience in college-level teaching and directing plays with student actors is strongly preferred. Research in foreign languages and ability to teach pre-modern dramatic theory also are preferred. Responsibilities include teaching and advising undergraduate and graduate (Ph.D.) students and directing a departmental production every two or three years.
