The Department of Classics at Tufts University seeks to hire a part time lecturer for the 2009-10 academic year. The successful applicant will be expected to teach three courses per semester in Classical Archaeology to be determined in consultation with the Department. In the Spring semester, one of these courses will be Classics 27, a gateway course for undergraduate archaeology and classics majors that introduces students to the archaeology and material culture of the classical world from the Bronze Age to the end of the Roman period. The class has a normal enrollment of around 100 students. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Classical Archaeology and prior experience in teaching a course of this nature.
