UNION COLLEGE – SCHENECTADY, NY
Union College seeks applicants for an endowed chair in religious studies, the John and Jane Wold Professorship in Religious Studies, to assume directorship of an interdisciplinary program. The successful candidate will be hired with tenure in the department of the candidate’s field at the associate/full professor level. He or she will be expected to teach courses in the religious studies program as well as to direct it. The successful applicant will be a person who, in addition to his or her specialized field of expertise, can provide a broad overview of the importance of religion and religious studies within a liberal arts curriculum and be able to provide more general exposure to world religions, ancient or modern, and to theories about religion.

Union offers substantial support for scholarship, and candidates for this position must demonstrate strong credentials in research and publication as well as excellence in undergraduate teaching.
