The Department of Classics at the University of Arizona seeks to hire a highly qualified Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2012-2013 academic year. The appointment is full-time and benefits-eligible, and begins on August 13, 2012. This position is neither tenure-eligible nor tenure track.
The candidate must have a Ph.D. in Classics or a related field by August 13, 2012. The teaching load is three courses per semester. Preference will be given to a candidate with a record of excellence in teaching. The successful candidate is expected to teach a combination of undergraduate and graduate Classics courses, including an advanced Latin prose course, and large enrollment general education Classics courses.
