The Department of Classics at the University at Buffalo (The State University of New York) invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Latin language and literature at the rank of Assistant Professor. The department is especially interested in applicants with a specialization in one or more of the following areas: Roman religion; literature of the Early Empire; critical theory. The position will require the teaching of Latin language and literature at all levels (undergraduate and graduate) and undergraduate courses in classical and world civilization. Candidates must have demonstrated potential for excellence in research and publication and should have the Ph.D. in hand or expect it to be granted by August 1, 2003.
