Faculty Fellow in Classics. The Program in Classics at the University of California, Davis, invites applications for an appointment under the Faculty Fellows Program. The term "Faculty Fellow" encompasses a combined appointment as Lecturer and Faculty Fellow Researcher. The initial term of appointment is for one year, with the potential for renewal for up to two additional years (for a total of three years). Candidates must have earned the Ph.D. in Classics or a related field within two years prior to the scheduled date of appointment, July 1, 2003. The appointee will teach five courses over three ten-week academic quarters. Candidates should be prepared to teach Greek and Latin at all undergraduate levels, introductory through advanced, and general courses in mythology and literature in translation. We especially encourage applicants with special interests in one of the following fields: ancient history, history of science, gender studies, the literature and culture of late antiquity.
