Greek and Roman art and archaeology. Lecturer, to begin July 1, 2008. Ph.D. required by time of appointment. One-year replacement appointment, renewable up to three years. Teach a range of courses on ancient Mediterranean art and archaeology in the undergraduate Department of Art History, the Graduate Program in Visual Studies (offered jointly with the Department of Film and Media Studies), and the Tri-Campus Graduate Program in Classics (offered jointly with UC Riverside and UC San Diego). DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY
Late Antiquity – The University of California, Irvine, is seeking applicants for a tenure track assistant professor with a specialty in the history of Late Antiquity, broadly conceived (ca. 100 CE-800 CE). Areas of study of special interest to the Department include, but are not limited to: religion, state formation, trade, history of science and/or medicine, gender history, environmental history. Interest in participating in the department's world history program is expected.
