UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AT IRVINE - IRVINE, CA
(new May 2000) The Department of Classics at the University of California, Irvine announces at least one full-time, one-year Lecturer position and at least one part-time Lecturer position for academic year 2000-01. Teaching responsibilities will include a number of undergraduate courses in elementary, intermediate, and advanced Latin and Greek and Greek and Roman civilization courses in English translation. Assignments will depend on the qualifications and availability of the applicants. Annual salaries range from $28,968.00 to $35,940.00 for a full-time appointment; appointments will be made at 37.5% to 100% time (one to three courses) for each quarter. Salary will be commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Appointment dates: Fall Quarter 2000, October 1 to December 31, 2000; Winter Quarter 2001, January 1 to March 31, 2001; Spring Quarter 2001, April 1 to June 30, 2001. These appointments are temporary and do not confer academic rank.

Minimum Requirements: Applicants should hold a M.A. or Ph.D. in Classics and have experience in language instruction. Applicants must forward a current curriculum vitae and should have at least two names and contact information for references or have letters sent.
