UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AT IRVINE - IRVINE, CA (Two Positions)
The Department of Classics at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for TWO full-time positions at the Assistant (tenure-track) or Associate rank, both beginning July 1, 2001. The Department seeks to extend its strengths by adding to its faculty a specialist in Latin literature and culture (preferably Augustan poetry), and a Hellenist specializing in the poetry and culture of the Archaic period.

Candidates for both positions must have the Ph.D. completed by the date of the appointment, show evidence of scholarship and demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching. Experience and/or interest in technology will be considered a plus. The successful candidates will be expected to teach a full range of graduate and undergraduate courses and be active members of the Tri-Campus Graduate Program in Classics.
