UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA LOS ANGELES – LOS ANGELES, CA
The UCLA Department of Classics invites applications for two tentative one-year positions for 2012-2013. Candidates should have completed the Ph.D. by July 1, 2012.
Both positions are open to general classicists able to teach classes in Greek and Latin and also in Greco-Roman literature and culture. For one position we are particularly interested to see candidates with proven experience, at the post-Ph.D. level, in the teaching and coordination of introductory classes in Greek and Latin.
Applicants should send a letter of application, curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching effectiveness, transcripts, and three letters of recommendation in hard-copy to Mary Daghlian, Department of Classics, UCLA, 100 Dodd Hall, Los Angeles, CA 90095-1417 (materials may be submitted by email to mdaghlian@humnet.ucla.edu; such materials should also be sent in hard-copy). Informal inquiries may be directed to David Blank: blank@ucla.edu.
The deadline for receipt of applications is 15 May 2012. The positions will be filled, pending budgetary approval, as soon as possible after that date. The University of California, Los Angeles is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to excellence through diversity.
