Candidates should demonstrate a thorough grounding in Latin language and literature, and be prepared to teach Latin at all levels. Preparation for teaching a lower division civilization course would be desirable. The Literature Department is committed to the comparative study of world literatures from antiquity to the present; especially welcome are applicants with comparative and theoretical training, and those whose interests intersect with those of others in the department, including the history of slavery, migration and diaspora, multilingualism, ethnicities of the Roman world, urban studies and geography, and the critical study of religion. Salary commensurate with experience and is based on UC pay scale. Non-citizens should state immigration status in CV.
