Three Endowed Chairs in Greek History.

The Department of History of the University of California, San Diego is proud to announce the receipt of a generous gift from the Greek-American Community of San Diego for the establishment of three Endowed Chairs in Greek History (Ancient, Byzantine, and Modern). The three Endowed Chairs in Hellenic Studies:­ the Ranglas Endowed Chair in Ancient Greek History, the Vassiliadis Endowed Chair in Byzantine Greek History, and the UCSD Endowed Chair in Modern Greek History ­will anchor a strong departmental focus in Mediterranean Studies in the ancient, medieval, and modern world. The appointments will be for senior scholars with distinguished records in research and teaching, who are attracted to the opportunity to play a leadership role in the creation of a nationally ranked program in the field. Salary will be commensurate with experience and publications and in accordance with the published salary schedules of the University of California. Income from each Chair's endowment will be available for support of research.
