The Department of Classics, University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Latin Literature, beginning July 1, 2013. The Department is particularly interested in candidates working on Latin imperial prose texts who would contribute to our program’s strengths in cultural studies and/or ancient history and historiography. Comparatists are welcome. Ph.D. in Classics or a comparable degree (including Comparative Literature/Classics) expected by the time of appointment. The successful candidate will teach graduate courses in our active M.A. and Ph.D. programs, seminars, and large humanities courses in mythology and Classical literature and civilization.
