VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF CLASSICSThe Department of Literature invites applications for a one-year VisitingAssistant Professorship in Classics (with the possibility of a one-year reappointment). Candidates will teach a broad range of courses in Greek and Latin, from elementary language to advanced literature in the original languages and in translation, with a five-course load over three quarters. We seek applicants with clearly demonstrated university teaching ability, able to work with students and faculty from a wide variety of backgrounds.

RANK: Assistant Professor I-III $43100-$48000 QUALIFICATIONS: PhD in Classics or Comparative Literature (with Classics emphasis) by June 30, 1999. Demonstrated success in university teaching, and evidence of scholarly activity in the form of publications and/or MS writings. AVAILABLE: September 1999 upon final approval of funding.
