The Department of Maritime Civilizations invites applications with Ph.D. degree for a tenure-track academic position in the field of Maritime History. Rank and tenure will be dependent on the academic achievements of the applicant, and will be subject to University regulations. A special interest in the Classical World and its heritage would be an advantage. The applicant is expected to be familiar with the maritime heritage of the Israeli coast, and be willing to carry out most of his or her research into its historical problems.
The position is tenable from October, 2008. Please send CV with list of publications and three letters of recommendation. The application deadline is April 1, 2008.
