Assistant Professor of Humanities. The University of Houston-Clear Lake, an upper-division and MA-granting institution adjacent to the NASA-Johnson Space Center, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Humanities. Appointment begins August 2004. We seek an excellent teacher and active researcher to teach 3 courses/semester of BA-level core seminars in Western or non-Western literary, historical, philosophical, and religious traditions. Option to teach core seminars or electives during summer semesters. Requirements: Ph.D. in a Humanities field (e.g., Classics, History, Literature, Philosophy, Religious Studies), generalist orientation, commitment to working with a diverse student population. Previous teaching experience highly desirable.
