The Department of Classics at the University of Illinois at Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Classical Archaeology at the rank of Assistant Professor, pending final budgetary and administrative authorization. Candidates should have completed the Ph.D. by fall semester 1999, with a specialization in either classical Greek or Roman archaeology, and should demonstrate promise in research and teaching. In addition to archaeology courses, teaching duties will include classical civilization courses and courses in Ancient Greek and/or Latin at the elementary to intermediate levels.
