Assistant Professor of Catholic Studies. The University of Illinois at Chicago, a leading urban public research university, seeks to fill a tenure-track position in Catholic Studies. No particular disciplinary approach is required so long as the principal focus of scholarly work is the Catholic tradition. The successful candidate will receive a joint appointment in Catholic Studies and another department or program, depending upon his/her discipline. He or she should be enthusiastic about developing undergraduate courses in Catholic Studies, and about serving a multicultural and multireligious student body. Applicants should have the Ph.D. in hand by start date, and should have a lively research and publication agenda. Review of applications will begin on December 6, 2006, and will continue until the position is filled. The appointment will be effective in August 2007.
