The Department of the Classics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a one-year 100% appointment at the rank of Visiting Lecturer in the area of Latin literature, with a target start date of 16 August 2012. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Preference will be given to applicants with interests in Classical Latin prose literature. Teaching responsibilities include six courses annually, of which at least three will be Classical Civilization courses and one will be an undergraduate/graduate course on Latin Prose Composition.
Applicants must have a PhD in Classics or in an immediately relevant field by the start date.
Salary competitive and commensurate with experience.
