The Department of Classics at The University of Iowa invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor, to begin in August 2013. This is a non-tenure track position. Full time teaching load is five courses per academic year. The successful candidate will teach two large English language classes each semester and one advanced Greek course in the Spring. The large English classes will include Ancient Magic, Roman Civilization, and Greek Literature in Translation. Experience teaching large courses and ancient Greek at the advanced undergraduate level is necessary. Ph.D. by time of appointment is required. Evidence of successful teaching of large lecture classes and Greek classes is also required.
