Ancient History. The Departments of Classics and History at the University of Iowa invite applications for a historian of the classical world. Tenure track joint appointment, assistant professor for Fall 2003; Ph.D. required by date of appointment. Able to teach Greek and Roman History, including the ancient Near East and Mediterranean World to 300 C.E., as well as classical authors in original languages at all levels. Screening begins October 31, 2002. We will interview candidates at the American Philological Association Conference in New Orleans in January 2003.
